Jackson Gulick

Nineteen-year-old Jackson Gulick can recall the summer of 2011 very well, it was the summer that helped guide his path in life.  June of that summer Jackson attended his first Country Stampede. While watching all the amazing artists, like Lady Antebellum, Blake Shelton, and Brad Paisley entertain the crowds, Jackson was having the time of his life. Then to top off the summer the family headed down to Nashville, TN for a vacation.  While in Nashville, Jackson had many great experiences, but the one that made the lasting impression on his future was seeing Luke Bryan perform a free concert at the Grand Ole Opry.  He had a front row seat watching one of his idols put on a concert that he will never forget. Jackson had always enjoyed reading and writing, and had taken some guitar lessons while in elementary school, so after returning home he sat down and started putting those two talents of his together.  In February of 2012, his Junior year in high-school, Jackson performed for the first time a song he wrote, called “Neon Dreams” at his school talent show. The crowd’s reaction was amazing, and that fed Jackson’s confidence.  It was then that he knew he wanted to continue writing and performing.

Since that day Jackson has written many songs, and has been fortunate to perform at many different venues around the Kansas City area.  He was in the Top 10 of the singing competition KC Superstar in both 2012 and 2013, and with that came the opportunity to perform at the Plaza Lighting the past two years.  Jackson has also performed down in Nashville, TN at places like the Bluebird Café, The Commodore, Douglas Café, and others.  Along the way he has meet many wonderful people, and made many new friends.

Jackson graduated from Shawnee Mission Northwest High School in 2013.  This past year he attended Johnson County Community College. In August he is heading down to Middle Tennessee State to continue his education, and pursing his “Neon Dreams”.  Jackson credits his faith in God, and love and support of family and friends for all that he is and has today.
