What started out as a group of determined friends who gave up careers in fields like teaching and engineering has turned into the Midwest’s most powerful up and coming band — BROSEPH! With an electric live show, relentless touring schedule, and unwavering work ethic, they’ve built a hallmark brand that was even recognized by Entreprenuer.com after seeing the band’s merchandise worn by the likes of The Cadillac Three, Dustin Lynch and Maddie and Tae.
“When the band started back in 2011, it was basically just a platform for me and my buddy Russ to write songs and play for free beer in our hometown bar. Since then, it has been amazing to watch it grow into a bigger operation. The majority of the line-up we have now has been grinding together for around 5 years. Our growth into a full band kind of happened organically. We just started writing and jamming as friends in college and we haven’t really stopped since”, explains lead singer Brock Jones.
The six best friends are excited to release their first EP since making the move to Nashville in January of 2017. “Let’s Do This” features six brand new songs produced by rock producer Greg Archilla and renowned Nashville guitar man, Ilya Toshinskiy. “When we first met Greg, we didn’t know what to think. I mean, here’s a guy who’s built a career working with rock legends! It didn’t take long to realize we were a good fit after coming out of the first writing session with a song like “Sombrero.” Then there’s Ilya, an absolute machine in the studio. He brought the banjo licks and post-country swag to tracks like “Country Song” and “Beer Talkin'”,” recounts lead guitar player and Co-producer Brooks Boyer.
The guys collaborated with Adam James, long time friend and songwriter with Three Ring Circus in Nashville, to round out the EP with his writing skills on “Beer Talkin’” and “Let’s Do This”. Nothing was off limits during the recording process. “Our influences range from Def Leppard to Shania Twain, Fall Out Boy to Nelly. We try not to confine our sound to any one genre, we just want people to listen to the music and decide for themselves”, asserts Brock.
“Our goal is to try and write songs that our fans can relate to and it kind of feels like a big family that we have been lucky enough to bring together. Though we’ve been told that our name is a bit strange, we take a lot of pride in being BROSEPHS. That name gives some insight into our lives together on the road, and even more than that, we really enjoy promoting friendship amongst everyone we come in contact with. We want everyone to be a BROSEPH”, says Sean Halbrook, bass player and background vocalist.
The BROSEPHS have built a “Good Reputation” in the last two years, pouring their high energy into every show as they continuously span the entire country in their touring rig aptly named Van Morrison & Trailer Swift. The highly talented act has recently opened shows for Steven Tyler, Cole Swindell, Dustin Lynch, Old Dominion, Luke Combs and Granger Smith, to name a few.
BROSEPH’S 2015 independent release, “Fill ‘Em On Up”, was well-received, landing a Music Row TOP 40 Single with “Right Where She Wants Me” (37) and a Music Row TOP 60 Single with “Fill ‘Em On Up” (58).
